There is something special about receiving an award that comes from the people who have stayed with us.

Kusini Beach Cottages has won a 2026 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award, placing us among the top 10% of hotels worldwide. We are also among the top 5 hotels in Diani and have been voted Diani’s #1 self-catering hotel.

For our team, these are more than rankings. They represent the families who came to spend time together, guests who celebrated special moments with us, those who returned for another holiday, and the people who took a few minutes after their stay to tell others what Kusini meant to them.

Our team has worked towards this goal for many years, putting care, passion, and love into making sure every guest feels welcome and well looked after.

When you think about how many hotels and holiday places there are around the world, being placed in the top 10% is something we still have to pause and take in.

Here in Diani, guests have a huge choice of places to stay too. To see Kusini Beach Cottages among the top 5 hotels in our own destination makes this award especially personal.

Many years ago, we set out to create a place where families could come to Diani and feel at home. We wanted children to have room to play, parents to have time to rest, and everyone to enjoy being together. We wanted guests to know the people looking after them and to feel comfortable enough to make the holiday their own.

That idea became Kusini Beach Cottages. Over time, our team has shaped it into the place we always hoped it could be, A warm and familiar team, and our own way of hosting through Self-Catering Deluxe.

Guests have the freedom of their own cottage, with people there to help make each day easier. It is a concept we believe in deeply, and seeing guests respond to it tells us that it works.

The award also reflects how much care goes into a stay at Kusini. Our chefs, room stewards, gardeners, maintenance team, and everyone who welcomes and supports our guests all play a part. Each person brings their own skill and pride to the work. Together, they create the feeling that guests have come to know as the Kusini Effect.

Being Diani’s #1 self-catering hotel is an achievement we are incredibly proud of. Self-catering is where Kusini began, and for years we have worked to make it something special.
